Pros

Two runs and my shin splints are gone. The toe box is what originally sold me (extremely wide) and the zero drop heel is a much more natural way to walk.

These days ergonomic shoes are important to me. These altra are lighter then anything, including my house slippers. These shoes have lots of cushion.

Bought four more pairs for an upcoming thruhike of the at. I am hopeful that this pair will last just a long. Will buy again.

Cons

The achilles foam padding in the heel seems to float between the inner and outer layers. This causes the padding to bunch up in the lower part of the heel. They have zero wet traction on smooth surfaces.

Overall the concept of the shoe is cool, but the quality of construction is sub par. I'm stuck with lousy old new balance or overpriced brooks. Emailed altra again to no reply.

Best hiking shoe i have ever owned and i am a avid hiker with 1000's of trail miles at 63 years old.

These altra are lighter then anything, including my house slippers.

This is my second pair after having walked hundreds of miles in the first pair and still they are not falling apart, just worn down.
