They definitely lean towards the more minimalist side of things but not so far that there is no protection or support

Upper material doesnt hold on to water which is good for fording streams and rain

Very comfortable shoe but the stitching at the top of the foot where the tongue connects to the shoe is a little uncomfortable if you wear thin socks
