After receiving this aluminum one i was pretty disappointed in how light and flimsy it looked not to mention it looked like it would only fit the outside of my nalgene 1qt canteen not the outside of the canteen cup like the original gi design

I have found that you get better performance if you turn the canteen cup sideways or diagonally on this stand instead of trying to press fit the stand to the bottom of your canteen cup
