Back cushions are foam and feel as if there is thin layer of down/feather wrapping it. Aniline leather lacks much of the protective coating that you find on pigmented leathers. Since there is not leather on the cushion backs, they are not reversible.

Almost all leather furniture in this price range is only top grain leather on the seating areas and the rest is some sort of match split bonded or vinyl

Having experienced having the seating areas still decent while the match surfaces all crumbled to pieces i did not want to go through that again

Note that on the time of this review amazon has the wrong pictures for the “coffee” color of the sofa on the website

If you switch it to the listing for chair it will show the actual “coffee” color but in the chair obviously rather than the sofa
