We bought this to reduce breakfast bacon spatters on our cooktop it works fine when on the skillet but we found that the screen discolors quickly from the heat from the gas burner when we lift it to turn the bacon strips

The lip around the edge is not useful for most normal sized skillets but it does not affect the screens utility

The screens with plastic handles melt and the silicone screens do not work on a gas pro style range and the screen itself will met due to the flame heat

The size is pretty big and we ended up hanging it on the side of our refrigerator next to the cabinets

I looked in walmart and some other stores and found plenty of ones just like this one but all of them had what looked like screens from a screen door with huge holes in them
