Packaging/appearance
I've had turners before, and the handle always cracks.
So we had to consign it to the the drawer full of other stuff.
Competitiveness
I was concerned it would not even fit in my pan, a t-fal professional non-stick 12.
This spatula is nylon and stainless steel, easy to clean, and so far holding up to my wife's rigorous spatula standards.
A small gymnast might even be able to do a flip or too off this sucker.

One thing that was interesting is that the picture shows a slotted spoon but the item we received had no slots and was clearly a basting spoon and not a slotted spoon

We are gluten free and generally if you make a gluten free pancake larger than a quarter it falls apart

Well it depends if you make pancakes frequently then yes but if you seldom ever make them then maybe not
