The motion detection was set for different ranges with the lights of the camera coming on when a certain distance to the house was reached and then the alarm sounding with the lights coming on when someone came too close

Not that the app itself is bad but some amcrest cameras have known vulnerabilities in their firmware and by connecting it to the internet it is a risk
