I did not have to update the firmware out of the box either

The wansview cameras were all recognized automatically as onvif all i had to do was set the username and passwords for each camera and it showed up

I have 2 foscam r2s and 10 hikvisions total of 12 cameras recording on each nvr

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

    Unfortunately none are amcrest cameras

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The only thing is onvif protocol allows the nvr to connect to the camera but its unable to record on motion

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Some of my hikvision cameras do record on motion just the luck of the draw but the rest cant and only record 247

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

This isnt amcrests fault as they guarantee support for full functionality of their own branded cameras but its just to note if someone else is wondering
