The lightning energy did not come in on the ac power lines so ac surge suppressors would do nothing to prevent it.

I think this is a great value for what i paid for it and the ability to economically add more cameras has already paid off.

I have to tell you, the price was reasonable and the upgraded firmware make all the difference in the world.

You basically get what you pay for.
