This outdoor poe camera from amcrest is a top performer at a entry-level price. The camera has a wonderful rugged construction. Price is very affordable compared to others out there.

This amcrest webcam does a great job with nice crisp images. Bought two, cameras 7 & 8 for my nv4108e amcrest 8 camera dvr. I have them recording through blue iris.

Motion detection works fairly well and is configurable. The default motion detection in the camera seems to work well - that got a workout with recent fireworks displays. Zone motion detection is excellent.

Cons

At night, the infrared lights up every dust particle or bug that floats by, creating a large number of false positives. No matter how many times i disable this feature, it just keeps turning itself back on.

They are well-made, tested and just work!

If it is most important to get really good image quality at night, then this is not a camera i recommend.

Web interface looks nice, but is poorly written and has questionable user interface choices for password fields.

Price

This is a great camera for the money.

For the price i'm a happy camper.

For the money, its a 5 star camera.

Ended up getting two of these because the price was right, but i was really skeptical.

Competitiveness

I’ve had quite a few ip cctv cameras in my time and this one is by far superior.

Overall, i have owned many brands of ip cameras and have replaced them all with amcrest.

By observation as well as through experience, i now purchase only amcrest brand security cameras and camera accessories.
