Pros
This cpu is amazing. What a powerful cpu, and great for a starter and budget pc. Multi core performance is just as impressive as it’s single core. Way outperforming even 10th, 11th, and 12th gen intel in value.
The 5600x handles everything you can throw at it, is lightning fast and great for gamers not trying to break the bank. Good gaming performance with settings on high. I highly recommend this for normal gamers that love seeing 1440 or even 4k gaming.
Mainly use it for everyday computing and emulation. What a difference in tech support. Also a bonus, it comes with a cooler.
Cons
Asus aura refuses to work at all. Never recognizes any apple devices like ipad or iphone (12) thru usb c. After waiting for a product that's barely in stock and grabbing hold of one, it might not even work. I'm disgusted by amd and this point and will... Read More

I'm running the asus b550-f mobo with the amd ryzen 5 5600x 6-core - 32gb ram with linux mint 20.
The performance boost is arguably not worth the usual $40-$60 price difference between the two, so if not on sale, go with the 5600g.
Price
My old 2700x is nothing compared to this 5600x.

But the rx560 worked great in the 880gm- usb3 for ever in a day.
Competitiveness
I had a ryzen 5 2600 before so this is an amazing speed boost over what i had before.
It is way better than the ryzen 5 3400g thatbi previously used.
0-110-generic on a 2tb sata drive and it totally blows anything intel out of the water.
I paired this with a evga 3070 ti and play at 1440p 144 hz.

The only thing with it is it gets hot even on low end games

Anything higher and the xmp profile in bios would either be really unstable cause a bsod or just continuously restart after applying settings

The impressive single core performance can be a really big help for the performance of games like minecraft that can only really utilize 1 core since it’s on java
