Paired With Ddr5
Customers have a generally positive opinion about the AMD Ryzen 5 8600G when paired with DDR5 memory. Some users reported noticeable improvements in response and snappiness, while others mentioned that it's a good value option for those who don't need high-end gaming performance or a dedicated graphics card. However, some customers noted the need to flash the BIOS on certain motherboards before use and the processor getting hot during heavy usage.
Performance
Customers have mixed opinions on the performance of AMD Ryzen 5 8600G desktop processor. While some are pleased with its powerful abilities and efficient quiet operation, others find it trails slightly in multi-core performance compared to previous models and note that single core performance is not as strong. Some users report solid gaming abilities, while others caution against purchasing due to similar performance levels to previous products and question the value for money.
Highlights
Quality
Witcher 3 goty (not next gen) works at solid 55-60fps in 1080p on high settings.
Very impressive gaming abilities playing aaa games such as fallout 76.
Con: bad ihs design with many gaps for tim to get suck in and it has.
It smokes any app, it plays 1080 games 85-110 fps.
Price
Pro 1: extremely high cost/value ratio even at its initial higher listing price.
Check out the 7840hs mini computer's if you think you will never spend $200+ on just a graphics card.
But if you want to keep it really cool, any decent 30-40$ air cooler will be more than enough.
Anyone getting to gaming on a budget should be satisfied with what this little sucker can do.
Competitiveness
Don't compare these 65 watt cpus against 65-130+watt cpus that also have a 200-300watt graphics card.
Using benchmarks it compares very similarly to the ryzen 5800x i use on my own desktop pc.
The 8000 series is mostly the same as the 7000 series, but with a better/more gpu performance.
