The packaging is excellent. For this price it has great performance and potential. Very happy with purchase at a nice price now. This review has been updated.

It is a pity that a brand new item is useless. Terrible disappointment with this purchase. The free game promotion is a lie.

Amazon will not refund your money until they receive the cpu back which could take over a month. The cpu seems fine, but for some reason does not seem compatible with my rig despite every method of troubleshooting and every source saying it should be.... Read More

The amd promo website is buggy, product verification tool (pvt) is finicky. Almost nothing reproduces the issue for me to test if i fixed it. Have to refund and order a new one.

No issues or complaints in that time other than i wish i had waited for the release of the 5800x3d.

Competitiveness

Upgraded from a ryzen 5 3600x and this seems to run better eith my computer.

Had to replace my ryzen 5 2600 after a power surge got to it.

My previous cpu was a ryzen 2700 non x .

But at the discounted price for this 5800x and that this was a 32g machine, it made sense to make it a supported upgrade.
