Intel has good i5 and i7 options from multiple generations close to this price point as well.
This is a good option for a lot of folks, but most mid to high end buyers will probably pass this in favor of other interesting options.
For any more, i’d be considering a 7800x3d, a 7900, or maybe one of the upcoming apus.

Coming from a i7 4960x gaming pc and a i7 6700 audio production system this 7700 non x has more than enough power to provide both well
