Pros
This is a noticeable upgrade with some of the more intensive programs i run from day to day. Lovin editing now.
The 5900x is a gaming powerhouse. My old fx8350 gives me about 16fps, the 2700x about 40fps. Extend the life of your old pc with this excellent cpu. It's a solid performer which pairs well with an rtx 3090 or 4090. It can also be used as a drop in rep... Read More
Love this cpu. Really high quality cpu works extremely well. Ghz on all cores with ease. Designed for productivity, gaming, multimedia and business.

Make sure you got a 360mm cooler and good vrm's and power delivery, and you won't be crying.
Competitiveness
I will upgrade the am4 ram to a higher speed xmp profile, and still come out less expensive than going to a new am5 system.
I've upgraded my cpu from a ryzen 7 1800x to this newer model, and the difference is substantial.
Amd's 9700 might convince me, maybe, when it's not $500, but i'm hoping to see another 12-core cpu with decent single-core perf... Read More
