My old fx8350 gives me about 16fps, the 2700x about 40fps. Way less stuttering, higher 1% and average fps.
If the air cooler is to much pressed onto the cpu i got 67 degrees celsius on idle - adjusted right and spread nice the thermalpaste with an spatula, i get 49 degrees celsius. Really high quality cpu works extremely well. Ghz on all cores with ease.
X gives me about 70fps. Handles vr in an htc vive pro 2 max settings when paired with a 3080ti. No bottleneck to speak of.
Cons
Amazon tells me i can't return a computer component after 30 days, even though it is defective. However, contacting amd warranty support is like dealing with some kind of criminal enterprise. Have been waiting 2 weeks for a refund and still nothing.
The motherboard is fine, but the processor has been acting up. Lost tb's of data trying to troubleshoot this cpu. Big thumb print on the middle of the cpu.
Keeps shutting down during windows installation and rebooting over and over again. Seems others have had similar problems with amd 5000 series of cpu's. Checked different combination of ram dimm slots still same problem. I tried to boot into win fix b... Read More

I upgraded my psu to a corsair rm850x fully modular atx power supply - 80 plus gold - low-noise fan - zero rpm - black from amazon for $99.
If you can catch this cpu on sale i highly recommend it.
The price point now days is about half of what i paid, and anyone looking for a solid cpu should be happy with this one.

Competitiveness
Corel worked best compared from my previous chip (r7 5800x) with no lag while running both programs.
I will upgrade the am4 ram to a higher speed xmp profile, and still come out less expensive than going to a new am5 system.
I've tried several levels, and even let amd's app try setting the undervolting levels itself but got the same result.
My x570 required a bios update with a matisse 3000 cpu installed to upgrade to vermeer 5000 series.

The resting temp is 60c which is insane since the 5 series resting temp was 32c

Turns out even playing the most cpu intensive games we have it only uses about half the cpu

Im running it with a gigabyte b550 aorus elite ax v2 motherboard and i had hoped to be able to 34undervolt34 the cpu to save some heat and power and maybe make it last longer but it starts crashing about every hour when i do
