Upgraded from the 3900xt. It's amazing how the 5950x cpu-only upgrade gave this 3950x premium build a next-generation performance jump. I have it running on an aorus master x570 with 64gb ddr4-3200 cl16, with a samsung 980 pro (in the pcie 4.

This is a great processor but my experience was the first processor was doa. The upgrade is noticeable.

My server has two xeons with 8 cores each. Definetely worth it for multi-core applications.

Cons

You've been warned, gl to everyone ordering from here. Still no luck fixing this junk. I almost didn't catch it, the pins are small and there is a lot of them.

A stellar processor all around even 3 years after initial release.

Coupled with 64gb of ram and there are few-to-no jobs i can't power through now as well as i did 5 years ago.

This thing is a monster for the price.

Its the best value for the money on the market and i think it would keep you happy if you are moderate game for 3-5 years to come.

Under $1000 i have this bad boy along with 128gb of ddr4 ram.

On prime day this was two hundred ninety two dollars.

Did not come with thermal paste so make sure to get your own.

Competitiveness

I love this as i upgraded my cpu its not that expensive and it does make a difference compared to others.

Compared to the 5700g i was replacing this cpu is amazing for a reasonable price i'm more than satisfied.

However, ensure you have a proper cooling as it may require better cooling than a generic stock cooler.
