This is to avoid the screen protector slapping down onto the glue and causing bubbles if you just yanked the pin out.

Its not the cheapest but amfilm includes an application tray compared to cheaper products that dont i wouldnt like to attempt installing this style of screen protector without it

Find a level surface and use the supplied bubble level to make sure the phone is level before applying the glue so that the glue doesnt run away

Moving the main blob around will also remove any tiny air bubbles in the glue caused during release of the glue and will avoid those bubbles being trapped under the screen protector

When lowering the glass screen protector pull the pin out slowly until the screen protector touches the adhesive before pulling the pin out quickly
