the centre post is bolted from the underside of the desk see pic1 really sturdy construction it is really heavy with the base2 good cable management on the back of the mount for the 2 monitors3 easy to adjust and lock the tilt to stop movement you need to prise of the covers and use the spanner to tightenloosen the mount4 large range of height adjustments as well as tilt and anglethe not so good hence the 4 stars1 for me i could not mount the screens far enough away from the front of my desk the arms that come out of the centre post do not go back to allow for my size of screen to be mounted further back
