The photo shows that there are essentially no exposed threads at that junction which seems to indicate that either 1 the homyl female thread is too large in diameter andor not tapering or 2 the anderson male thread visibly tapered may be undersized

I am leaning toward the homyl’s female threads as being the problem here since the anderson’s female threads are just fine

The only reason i give it less is because there is no warning on this advertising page saying that this is prohibited for use with potable water in the usa
