The law was changed years ago that you cannot sell any plumbing parts containing lead nor is lead allowed in the manufacturing of plumbing products used for anything for water consumption

You will see made in china on nearly all plumbing parts made today with some exceptions

Brass cpvc nsf labeled products are code compliant for potable water not pvc

Galvanized products will eventually rust and are not advised for use in potable water installations but people use them all the time
