There is an o-ring in the ght end, as there should be. The brass pipe fitting/hose fitting adaptor works great and well made.
Highlights

The swivel coupling came quick and description matched the product.
I am pleased with the fitting although i did think it was a bit 'pricey.
The issue with the plastic fittings is that they break after a few months.

The image for this listing is wrong; the image shows a 3/4-inch fht to 1/2-inch fpt.
It most assuredly does not rely on o-rings.

The npt side is not supposed to have an oring

If you stick an oring in the npt side you might decrease the depth of penetration of the male npt and obviate the design of the taper to create the seal

Due to the thin brass they are not very durable
