It boils water faster than my old kettle, and more quietly, though it seems to go on boiling longer than needed before it switches off. It does a little shimmy as it boils but hubby and i agree we made a good choice.
Cons
Kettle looks stylish but is very flimsy. Cheap rubbish. This kettle is very lightweight, feels so flimsy.
Kettle looks smart and boils quickly - but after 6 months the kettle has corrosion all around the top edge of the kettle - and the silver has worn off above the switch. It makes me wonder if it contaminates the water.
The inner wall is made of steel so soaks up heat energy quickly, reducing efficiency. The outer wall is plastic which isolates the hot inner wall for a short time so safe to touch but does little to retain heat which is stored in the base and metal in... Read More

With the new kettle, the black and silver exterior are plastic, much lighter.
Nothing particularly outstanding about the kettle, but a good solid, smart kettle that boils fairly quickly, for the price.

Please take care not to overfill(the stated max line is too full) as hot water bubbles out of the spout as it’s boiling.
