After two minutes there was a loud crack and the pot shattered in two pieces. Arrived with a chip on the handle that wasn't noticed until washing.

I think this weight goes a long way to proving what a good, solid, and sturdy cast iron dish this is.
One warning, this is a very heavy item and needs two hands to lift into the oven.
Made a batch of cock - a - leekie soup as a starter for burns night and put it on the table to dish up.

Fabulous value for money, you won't be disappointed
This is a great size and brilliant value for money.
So, at around 1/10 of the price you'd expect it to feel cheap.
We have a smaller oval le creuset which is good but the cost of the 31cm one was just crazy (£245).

I’ve owned one of these cast iron casserole pans for many years although my version is in blue

My only problem is the weight of the casserole dish this is a heavy very pot and becomes even more heavy when full of a weighty stew or curry
