The green light that is supposed to come on when the plates have reached the appropriate temperature actually works the other way round it is on while heating and goes off once at temperature

But the heat distribution is not great and the waffles are definitely not as cooked as towards the middle of the machine

It would also provide for better cleaning in the long time if the plates released from the machine
