The outer metal ring is thin but durable and opens on a hinge to prop up the phone for viewing in landscape or portrait then folds away to a very thin profile when not in use

I got the purple color a matte velvety silicone surround thats subtly two toned pastel purple and a shade lighter purple with the metal outer ring being a coordinating matte purple as well

But if you attach a heavy magsafe device like a battery to the back and you try to hold your phone with just the device that is attached the ring will move a bit as if you are folding it out to use as a stand
