You have to manually set the volume on the transmitter, which is to be expected, but it’s an extra step in the process. Only thing i have an issue with is that the second pair of headphones does not automatically connect all the time.

I regularly have to resync the second pair when i turn devices on

And my headphone control do not control the volume of the transmitter

Because it auto connects its best to turn off all other bt device before trying to sync it
