For my laptop i had to update my bios two releases turn on ahci in my bios and change a registry setting in windows 7

The only thing thats actually really terrible about this product is the button that releases the case in order to openclose it

You will definitely not open this thing by accident so really cant affect the product rating at all but this really could have been a lot better

My old laptop had a random shutdown problem likely due to overheating it wouldnt stay on long enough to transfer anything more than 1 album of mp3s
