Thin and light design, also comes with a little pouch to keep the product in. Comes in a colour coded grey alcantara bag to stop it getting scratched. Durable metal shell and quality connectors.
Most things you need to connect your mac to don't need a thunderbolt port. Great little device to connect my new laptop to monitor and network with one plug.
The anker hub is designed to be plugged between the power supply and the laptop. However when connecting my ipad air via this port, and using sidecar for a second display, it does appear to pass charge to the ipad without issue.
Usb seems stable and fast. Nice reassuringly secure fit. Also works well as a portable unpowered adaptor.
It performs flawlessly. Works like a charm.

Competitiveness
I've used it with hp, dell and lenovo laptops with no compatibility issues.
And it is much stable than the pluggable branded one work provided me with.
There are several other cheaper options out there and i've tried some of them which proved problematic and ultimately failed.

The network port seems to actually yield decent speeds as some other brands can be a bit random about what speed connection you get which defeats the point of a wired connection

Uses pd power delivery so you can run one usbc from the charger into the hub then the hub will occupy only one usbc slot on your machine

Downside high energy consumption 15w you will need a powerful charger the one that comes with ipad won’t power the hub and the ipad
