I changed the settings and the hard drive filled up and alarms started beeping

To reset the hard drive i tried formatting it but that didnt work then i tried partitioning it and that did work

Im waiting for it to fill up againi dont understand what went wrong because i thought it was supposed to automatically start again on the hard drive
