Ok the product was described as having a red dot somewhere on the female cable to differentiate between just power and power plus data

I confirmed this by using the wireless mouse usb plug the usb mouse does not work on thinner cable not data

Works as noted however dont hook up data devices to the female power line the result will short out the semiconductor protection of the connected devices killing the product
