Grit sand paper. Easy to cut and fasten to stair. Comfortable to walk on. The reflective stripe makes steps easier to see in the dark.

The surface of this tape is like 40 grit sand paper.
I placed three lines on the last board of my porch (before stepping onto stairs)the paint i used made the surface real slippery.
