Pros

Works great and was detected by gnome without any additional drivers or software needing to be installed. Batter does good work, i'm quite happy with it, though i wish the software was a bit more friendly to me.

Cons

Is the product description on the web and on its packaging box misleading? The hazmat risks of shipping a lead-acid dry cell (oh please). This is only 2 out of 20+ lifetime purchases for apc, so i am hesitant to abandon the brand.

Lock-tab on the connector inside the unit was not in place and it had pushed the connector into the case, instead of connecting to the battery. Tried seeking assistance from apc to no avail.

Among the tens of thousands of 5-star ratings, this one is an outlier. The advertised speed of 1 gb is at best meaningless and more realistically a lie.

When the battery starts dying it screeches constantly until it runs out, regardless if you had it muted or not. The battery life time drops to 0 minutes very quick even after 24 hours of constant charging. The current versions of powerchute software a... Read More

Works great and i love the long cord and extra plugs.

It had protected my system well for a few months and been through several power surges and losses.

It hummed from the first moment it was plugged in, without even powering on.

These are great and definitely worth a few more dollars.
