Simple setup and you never have to worry about losing electricity on your system.
It does not discharge the batteries too low and wreck them, so shuts off and goes offlineuntil they are charged enough.
In new area, power supply is not stable, lot's of lightning and 1-2 second power loss.
Price
This a great value for an inexpensive ups that does everything that the manufacture states in the advertisement.
It is possible this ~$100 ups saved the data on my nas, which was money well spent.
10: good batteries can be had for $15.

Weve also had destructive surges on at least two occasions one of which blew out the electronics in our microwave oven and the other destroyed my computer which was unprotected at the time

The printer scanner etc are run off the side of the unit that only supplies surge protection
