These things used to cost several hundred pounds.
An isolation switch would have been good but i suppose it comes down to cost.
Packaging/appearance
I've plugged the cable from the ups(rj45) into the nas(usb) and it recognises it as a ups.
Competitiveness
Apc make upss for the office and are a well known and reliable brand.
Running a synology nas drive, a laptop, external speakers, and a wifi bridge through the battery backed sockets.
Works a treat on my qnap nas ts-453a no software installation nesessary, detected it straight away.

My router takes forever to power back on after a power fluctuation which is alarmingly frequent right now so i opted to get this to keep that from happening as having video cut out on a meeting during this dratted lockdown is not a good option

I originally bought one of these to ensure my music studio pc wont suddenly go off if the power cuts and it stopped power spikes reaching the pc and causing it to freeze

I bought a second one to put on my tv amp and sky box so i could do a controlled shut down when the power went off

If the power fails all the connected devices instantly run off the battery in the unit till the power comes back on

The 700va unit i use can run a pc and screen for around 10mins and you can use the supplied software and usb lead to make windows shutdown safely automatically

As you can destroy or scramble your os if you lose power during an update

So the power should come back on before the battery runs out or after 45mins you can choose to power off the devices safely but manually
