Although runtime is short it is long enough for most transient outages and if the outage is longer even the bigboy units with attached battery packs will not keep you up until power is restored

Regarding reports of annoying beeps these can be turned off via the remote management pages which run in a local browser

It was fortuitous that i received this ups through the vine program just as one of my other ups units died from a dead battery

While apc says it will run for 8 years at least i find it disconcerting that they still give no more than a 3 year warranty

So when i ask myself if i would pay the premium for this ups versus receiving it via the vine program for review i have to admit that i most probably would not versus buying a unit that uses a wet cell battery but provide more outlets and more capacity for half the price
