Pros
There was no degradation of throughput or speed on the network. Still getting 900s with this device in. For u. S. That in itself is a testament to these things. Older comments here suggest it does slow down.
One at the router, and one at each cable tv box. Signal comes in via coaxial to the modem. Works as intended for run outside to detached garage.
My house has whole-house protection in the breakers, but never thought about protecting the ethernet lines. The lightning always seems to seek ground through our fiber provider so typically we lose anything attached to their equipment. It never hurts ... Read More

The jumper is too short. Too much guess work. This thing has several drawbacks. Do yourself a favor and opt for a different product/brand.

I bypassed this protector and voila, the network worked which means thing did it's job.
I installed mine between the cable from the wall into my at&t cable modem thus protecting it and all devices downstream from it.
Lightning took out my last router but since i’ve installed this my electronics have been spared.
I put one of these on each end of the line, and elsewhere in my network, and the problems stopped.
Price
Ubiquiti sells the same thing for $13.
I should note that these are expensive for what they are.
Went with this brand over something generic as the cost difference was not an issue when you think about the potential $$ savings.
