Pros

Lifepo4 batteries are smaller, safer, produce less heat, are lighter weight per ah and outlast the pb batteries by a wide margin.

All 8 outlets are backed-up. Just plug the ups into the mains, connect it to the nas via usb, plug the nas into the ups and boot the nas. Set it up to synchronize with the ups. The nic is for the systems cloud connectivity.

Many reviews criticize the batteries for failing prematurely. Using the apc smc1000c for my it equipment including a buffalo terastation 1200d running a raid.

Apc smartups units are great for allowing anywhere from a half hour to several hours of up-time depending on the setup. The whole house generator takes 20-30 seconds to kick in during a power outage. Each ups is engineered to have a runtime of about 2...  Read More

Cons

Smc1000 can't handle pc running and small samsung printer working at the same time. Software for this thing is pretty bad. Don't trust that someone else had done their due diligence before you bought this. It's a nut job.

Possibly defective units.

Quality

Great quality and value for the price, it is an excellent product.

I have purchased this brand of battery backups before and have been pleased with their quality.

I was unable to register the product.

For the money these units cost one would expect better quality control.

Price

I was disappointed to see that the price had increased.

So i did, but the price went up by $16.

Shipping

The customer service was fast, professional, and effective.

That does include free return shipping for your spent battery but still, that's more than i hoped for.

Packaging/appearance

The packaging threw me off at first glance, but within was a product that i was familiar with.

Competitiveness

All of the above earns the apc smc1500c my 5-star rating.

Power flickers a few times, this thing deals with it like a champ.

28 percent load and gives me around 45-50 minute runtime with what i have plugged in.
