Protein Content
Customers have mixed opinions about the protein content and quality of the ingredients in the API Fish Food Pellets. While some are impressed with the variety of ingredients, others express concerns that the crude protein content is lower than expected and may not provide complete proteins for their fish. Some customers appreciate the availability of both flakes and tiny pellets, while others prefer the higher protein percentage offered by competing brands.

Highlights
Quality
I like that the flakes seem to float a bit longer than other flakes - makes for less waste and nastiness to clean out of the rocks!
I use purified water to clean my betta's tanks (i highly recommend this as it removes any harmful chemicals, iron, mercury, feces etc.
It dechlorinatates the water instantly and the best part, it doesn't turn the water any funky colors.
It doesn't leave the water yuky water stays crystal clear not like other brands
Price
Priced nicely, our betta eats it with no problem
The price is nice, and best of all, our fish likes it.
Cheaper than prices in store near me.
Packaging/appearance
Giving 4 stars only because of the packaging.
It came in a manila envelope and the plastic jar was smashed to bits by the time i received it.
Could have been packaged better so that would not happen, but it was cheap.
Other than dumping out all the food and small bits of plastic from the envelope, my betta loves them.
Competitiveness
Better than many other brands i have purchased.
Comparing the ingredients, i was impressed with what api offered.
Based on articles in a variety of fish magazines about a decade ago, i chose hikari fish foods as my go-to brand.
Api offers both flakes and tiny pellets while hikari only offers tiny pellets.
