I know that’s not the primary feature but man is it a bonus! It takes a big of time but believe in the process. Researching, i let it run its course. This should be used as an other tool in your arsenal.

Fluval fx2 canister is rechargeable too. These are a little pricy, but they absolutely work.
I have one big goldfish and a few feeder fish in a 30 gallon tank. For the longest time my goldfish has stress discoloration from high nitrates.
Cons
This nitrazorb is sadly just a gimmick! Even after a 25% water change they remain exactly the same. Product difficult to use with bio-wheel filtration system. After (3) weeks of use, absolutely no reduction in nitrate level.

Water got a little foggy at first even after rinsing it but cleared up within a few hours.
Water was brownish white, but dissipated after 48 hours to crystal clear.
Purchased this for daughters 29 gallon tank after weeks of off the charts nitrite levels (5 ppm+), and no other products working.
Price
Could not be easier to use & is a great value, not to mention saving your fish from dieing & the cost involved with that.
Shipping
On 5th day this arrived and brought nitrates down to 40 ppm in 5 hrs!

Then upon checking it, the bag that holds the contents was busted and the whole area that should have been sealed, wasn't sealed at all.

The only times i would be able to get my nitrate down would be if i did a full water change but it would be high again the next day

You do have to clean it every 5 days and i just take it to the hose outside and spray it down

Popped some of this into each filter checked nitrate levels after 24 hours and all were at or below 20
