I bought the maintained contact switch in the 16 mm size and it is easier to operate and is well built.
The contacts begin to mate at about a half-press and the button's full travel is not beyond the bezel.
Wired mine so the ring is lit red when the other dash lights are on.

I ordered these to use in my boat but did not install them because i made a mistake by ordering momentary contact when i needed maintained action switches

In the 12mm size the button is somewhat difficult to operate and i would recommend a raised head button on this size

Use a 1234 drill bit to make the hole for it

I would have liked it to be brighter as it may be hard to tell if it is lit in a bright room

Pushing the voltage to 20 volts gives a nice light but would of course shorten the leds life
