Pros

Apple airplay is one of the best wireless home audio solutions available. With it's lossless audio design, it sounds as good as digital audio gets when delivered wirelessly. The current gen express has a desk footprint, not unlike an appletv.

Cons

Apple's airport express is a poor choice for wireless networking. If you change the configuration, you are forced to restart the router.

Not for the faint at heart. I ask every store(apple\amazon\ocean reef), they all not provide any warranty. I'm scared to even buy a new one, because from what i've read, the new one will just burn out as well!

The device is essentially worthless! It is clunky and impossible to set up. That doesn't work anymore (i still have one that hasn't been hit by the firmware to stop it fortunately). The manual is laughably incomplete.

Apple's new macbook air crashes all the time. Streaming is inconsistent and there is static and multiple breaks in play. No music while i try and troubleshoot issues on 2nd floor.
