Pros & Cons
Pros
Furnace is an excellent engine builder board game. Plays pretty fast and has a fun bidding mechanic. Cards are used to collect or convert resources to money.
Despite it's short playing time, furnace is satisfyingly thinky. The game itself is incredibly fun. It even shakes things up a bit. Enjoyable but very solitaire like.
The two player variant is simple and unobtrusive. Complex, challenging, mathematics are involved.

If there was more of a variety catered for 23 players it would be more impressive

The components are just okay and the box is bigger than it needs to be for whats in it although i purchased the optional player mat and if you remove the factory insert you can fit the playmat in the box with all of the components which is nice

Furnace retails around forty bucks which may be a little high for what you get in the box

All players are guaranteed at least one factory card because the bid uses a ranking system from 14 and no two bids on the same card can have the same rank
