The suction is good & adjustable. I change about 25% of his water twice a week and my betta is loving it! Will never be without again. The pleco and catfish prefer the softer stuff lol so idk.

It's easy to get the gravel out of the hose, but annoying when it happens often.

The second time it had difficulty starting with the bulb, but finally started c the third, it’s dead. It barely blows out and does not take water in. This product is garbage.
