Pros

For my situation its a little overkill but decided to upgrade nonetheless. Have not had any slowdown whatsoever. I'm also happy to have the routers be alexa compatible.

Arris surfboard max plus mesh ax7800 wi-fi 6 ax router system. All that is needed is to download an app with a device that has an active data plan. Awkward but understandable packaging.

Coverage is amazing. My home is about 4000 sq ft. The garage behind the house has faster internet speed with the ax7800. The coverage is much better than the netgear as well, with full bars in every room of a 2200 sqft two-story.

Cons

The app controller is slow and outdated. It crashes and i be had to delete and reinstall the app numerous times.

Firmware lacks essential changeable lan default ip, wired backhaul, multi-gig wan. No igmp snoop support, no udp multicast support. The online information/ faqs are nearly completely worthless and generic.

Received this router with extremely high expectations, and was very disappointed. The setup is awkward. These are just plain brutal.

I am completely satisfied with the speed and coverage of this router.

Couldn't be happier with the effectiveness of the arris mesh network.

Even then i upgraded with the same brand.

I replaced my apple airport extreme base station with the arris surfboard max plus mesh ax7800 wi-fi 6 ax router (w30).

Packaging/appearance

Ordered and it showed up early, in excellent condition, no doubt because of the excellent packaging they used.

Never had a problem with it outside of the fact that i outgrew it in terms of speed.

In 5 weeks of use, i have not had a single disconnect or restart of the ax7800.

I think it would be a big selling point if an easy parental control solution was baked into the app/product!

Competitiveness

I had an onhub mesh system with 5 points and a growing smart home setup.

The router connects to mt modem with optimum speed at around 930 mbps maybe because i am also connected the arris sb8200 modem.
