    The book is aimed at all students of historic fencing such as the sca and hema and while it discusses the differences does not hold one school above the others allowing the reader to make the choice

    This book does not however spend much time on the use of a secondary weapon like a dagger there is a chapter on the use of the dagger but it is not a main focus of the work

    However as the singe sword is the basis for all other forms this is hardly a weakness
