The amount of sunlight and heat these things block is just phenomenal. It significantly reduces the afternoon suns glare -- and heat. Having blinds that keep out the sun, but still let me see when people are approaching is a godsend.
Great affordable outdoor roller shade. They look fantastic! Very nice. If you’re on the fence or looking for a shade, this one comes very highly recommended!
The wand can be taken down in high winds or during a cool season or left on it to dangle. They're not used daily, and they're not left flapping in the wind.

My front porch gets intense sun on 3 sides at various times of day so having blinds that keep out the sun but still let me see when people are approaching is a godsend

You do have to be careful when you use the crank to hold it vertically by the nonmoving section to avoid dislodging the blind from its holders
