Pros

Great boot to wear as a lineman climbing poles for short periods of time. My single complaint is that it's a bit pricey. Still a quality product made in romania.

The gore tex booties do their job well, no leaks so far. They are waterproof which is a must almost everywhere i hike. I really like how waterproof they are, i can walk through puddles that my 4 year old walks through in her rainboots.

Cons

Terrible customer service. Was not offered repair or replace option. No repair shops available and was brushed aside by support. Lack of warranty is only 2 years.

Wore them again on a hike and the entire sole of both boots delaminated. Soles were not just detaching they were crumbling and small pieces of rubber were breaking and flaking off.

The soles of this boot are horrible on wet rock, like dangerously horrible. This damage allows dirt, gravel and other debris to enter the boot. The damage also reduces the waterproofness of the boots. But the bottom rubber is not as expected as the wh... Read More

Asolo makes a high quality product… have been wearing them for decades.

Still a quality product made in romania.

I was sure my feet would be sore regardless of the quality of the boot after 17 hours of wearing them that day but i was wrong.

I've worn these for years and the first thing to go is the waterproof-ness ( within 6 months).

Competitiveness

The gortex lining comes up high on the boot.

This is my second pair of these boots, however, in the first pair the soles delaminated catastrophically in the first 90 days.

It was hard to part with $100 more than any close competitor.

I replace the foot beds with superfeet insoles.
