Pros & Cons
Pros
The asolo are comfortably secure and the laces are easily adjusted for different levels of snugness in phalanges, metatarsal, and tarsal areas. The tread has a self braking property that keeps it's traction in slick mudd. I really like how waterproof ... Read More
I walk a lot, as my dog will attest (5-7 miles about 5 days a week) one example is i've worn them on a 4 day elk hunt in a wilderness area on the nevada/idaho border. I work for a railroad, all previous boots i had would last max 6 months.
They are well worth the shekels. Every pair lasts a long time. And they’re still fine, i just want a backup plan.
There is really no other brand that provides the same level of sturdiness, support, and comfort. Soft but sturdy neoprene at the top. Generous and roomy toe box.
Will continue to buy this boot until it is discontinued. My single complaint is that it's a bit pricey.
Cons
The insoles are like thin pieces of perforated paper that are very uncomfortable. The bottom rubber is not as expected as the whole piece will start peeling off after a couple hundred miles.
Called asolo and was told the warranty is only 2 years and i’d need proof of purchase because they didn’t want to warranty “counterfeits’. It looks like several other reviewers have had issues with quality.
Highlights
Quality
Still a quality product made in romania.
These shoes are rugged, well built, quality construction.
I was sure my feet would be sore regardless of the quality of the boot after 17 hours of wearing them that day but i was wrong.
Heavy duty and good quality, reminiscent of rock climbing shoes and not just there for looks.
Price
That price seems to no longer be offered through amazon.
Packaging/appearance
This boot fits like a glove and is very comfortable right out of the box.

I've worn these for years and the first thing to go is the waterproof-ness ( within 6 months).
Competitiveness
I replace the foot beds with superfeet insoles.
The gortex lining comes up high on the boot.
