Pros & Cons
Pros
He works as a power lineman and is on his feet for long hours at a time and these boots have saved his feet. They offer quality support and are waterproof. They have a slightly higher ankle than other competitive brands.
This boot is designed for backpacking and hiking. It is amazing what you can do comfortably with this boots.
Love everything about this boot. Quality craftsmanship and durability is there. Best of all, the are amazingly versatile.
Cons
These boots are simply not dependable. Rei wouldn't take them back and asolo said tough. Sending boots back and will be contacting asolo.
Soles delaminated after less than 14 months of occasional use. Leather on toes was worn and discolored on the first day. Sole units degrade faster than if the footwear is worn regularly.
These are the worst hiking boots i’ve ever had. No hiking, no mileage. They are comfortable and durable, but these are meant for hiking.

High quality and comfy for many miles.
This is my second pair, the first one lasted me 13 years before the sole materials separated and fell apart.
These boots once you put in you will not want to take off best boot period made my back issue stop and ankle so yes buy them.
Price
Not what you'd expect on a $300 boots.
00 for a pair of boots that last less then one year is not acceptable.
I know they’re expensive, but they are worth the money.
My only caveat on this recent purchase is that within days of paying $315 for the boot from an amazon seller, for a size 9.
Shipping
They came quick, well documented, and fit great!
During a one year deployment to afghanistan the sole item i received in incoming mail was a pair of asolo boots.
Competitiveness
I also appreciate that these boots have a slightly higher ankle than other competitive brands.
I've tried others but these provide the durability, traction and fit better than any boot i've had on.
I first bought asolo boots (a different model from the tps 520 gv) in 1997, and the soles fell apart in 2007.
I have other friends i hike with that have gone through numerous pairs of other brands of boots, while i was still wearing my asolos.
